Mirror Lake Feature in KTVA 11 News

Broadcast legacy lives on at Mirror Lake Middle School


KTVA’s studio isn’t the only one named after Augie Hiebert, the “father of Alaska television.” For the last five years, Hiebert’s name has graced a working television and radio room inside Mirror Lake Middle School. The on-air-talent and “staff” behind the scenes are all seventh and eighth grade students. Each member of the class must apply and get accepted into the program, which is run by teacher Emily Blahous. Read the full story here
